Our Mission

Cool Champs, Inc. began with the price gouging of my family and friends by HVAC companies here in Austin. This made me realize that much of what occurs in the HVAC business is opaque and difficult to understand. Our mission at Cool Champs, Inc. is to add transparency by providing excellent service and explaining the in’s and out’s of the HVAC industry that my friends and family have received.

About Us

In 2012, I was an aspiring UT engineer and that summer, my parents AC went out. My mom paid almost $800 to have her residential AC looked at and recharged. Little did I know, but that was the best money spent because it was the beginning of Cool Champs, Inc.

Several years later, one of my best friends had his first child and conveniently, his AC quit. On a hot July day, his wife answered the door drenched in sweat, holding a months-old infant in her arms. The estimate they had gotten was $600-$700 for the replacement of a $30 part…

That’s when Cool Champs, Inc. truly took shape. That day, our mission was formed, “Bettering Austin through fair pricing and excellent service.“

Recently, when my ac unit stopped cooling, the home owner called Cool Champs, and a tall gentleman named Regan came out to look at the unit. He was polite and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. When the homeowner green lit the ac unit replacement, Regan and another gentleman named Nelson came out on Saturday ( Bless their heart's) and didn't mind the two yappily dogs in the home. They worked hard and fast to replace the ancient unit, and now my room went from 80 plus degrees to a cool 72 degrees. I highly recommend these gentlemen!

Regan is one of the best HVAC guys you'll ever meet. He was able to do my HVAC replacement job at a much better price than anyone in town (and with a bigger system). He followed up numerous times to make sure everything was still working great. He is super knowledgeable about all things HVAC (and has an Engineering degree from UT to back it up!). He even found an error in the original installation of the gas line to the furnace. If you live in Austin, Regan should be your A/C guy.

Our service provider, Regan, did a great job. A previous company had ignored an initial sign of trouble with our system, but Regan explained clearly what was happening and why, and then fixed the problem. I should also mention that he cheerfully came for an evening appointment and stayed to make sure the system was working properly. I would definitely use his services again.

One word sums it up. Awesome! Cool Champs (Regan) diagnosed and solved our poor a/c performance we’ve been plagued with for 27 years. We’ve had several other so called pros work on it and got nothing but more “hot air.” The attic space was over 120 degrees (we measured it) in late August and he worked until he solved our issue! Thanks Regan!

Regan is fantastic. Honest as the day is long in the summer. He has repaired A/C units at both main house and a rental, and replaced a unit when the compressor failed for thousands less than the American Home Shield vendor quote. After the Snowcopolypse, even helped me to repair a tankless hot water heater, when plumbers were not available. Another time when a vendor tried to cheat me, Regan helped me to not get overcharged for frivolous work. He goes above and beyond and has earned my business for life. He is my favorite repair guy - trust him with my A/C, my house, even makes my kids smile.

I had a great experience with Cool Champs -- responsive to my call, did a great job helping me understand the issue (without making me feel dumb), gave great advice for the future, and delivered the services at a very fair price. I would highly recommend Regan and his team.

My family and I came home after a long week to a burning hot upstairs. What a nightmare on a Friday night! I called multiple companies that had limited availability. We had accepted the fact that we would be sweating out the night. Then, Reagan from Cool Champs had just finished a job and called me back. He came over at 10:30 pm to fix my unit. 10:30! What company would do that?! He was professional, friendly, and very reasonably priced. To top it off, he brought his doggo Atlas. I will never call any other company for AC repair.

Cool Champs performed a great install for my homes HVAC system! Our outgoing system was approximately 20 years old, so after a significant repair estimate we decided it was time to replace it. After conducting numerous interviews, we settled on Cool Champs. Regan talked us through some of the different units available and provided a competitive quote for replacement. It didn’t stop there though - Regan (along with his helper) performed an efficient and professional install, taking time to explain the points of failure in our previous system and how to care best for our new one. Regan offered transparency through the entire process, a feeling I only got from a few select firms. I intend to continue to use Cool Champs for our heating/cooling needs and will refer anyone who asks me to them!
